Appeals Procedures
If a faculty member who has been denied tenure, permanent status, or promotion believes that the university has failed to comply with the university's criteria or to follow the appropriate university procedures for these decisions, he or she may choose to appeal (or grieve) the action. An appeal should begin at the level at which the nomination was denied. If the faculty member is dissatisfied with the result of the appeal, he or she may proceed through the administrative levels. Relevant documentation should be included with the action.
