Flex Spending Account grace period available through March 15

The state’s FSAs feature an annual grace period that enables participants to continue to use medical and dependent care accounts for eligible expenses through March 15. Claims for 2017 expenses must be filed by the final filing date of April 15, 2018.

The recent Equifax data breach as well as the rise in phishing targeting UF email accounts remind us all of the need to be extra careful when updating, sharing or accessing protected information. Employees are encouraged to be especially vigilant during Open Enrollment for phishing attempts by email and by telephone.

All UF units should closely monitor Hurricane Matthew and review emergency plans, and UF units with operations along the east coast of Florida should follow guidance from their university administrative units and local officials.
