Improve your changes to win an iPod!

ipodmyUFL Upgrade drawing extended to include myBeta access

The myUFL Financial Systems Upgrade iPod drawing—designed to encourage employees to complete myUFL upgrade training to prepare for the May 10 “go-live” date—has added myBeta Financials access to the mix.

As previously announced, the myUFL training drawing will be giving away 20 multi-touch iPod Nanos (16 GB) to employees who successfully complete their required training. (See the March issue of the all-employee InfoGator for details.)  Additionally, the drawing now has been extended to include anyone who has logged into myBeta Financials since January 16, 2011, and spent more than five minutes using that “practice environment.” As a result, another three iPod Nanos will be given away just to myBeta users.

Employees who have logged into myBeta will automatically be entered and will remain eligible for the drawing until they have either won an iPod or the giveaway ends. Employees are entered for each login and “practice” in myBeta longer than five minutes and are eligible to be entered once every two weeks.

Graduate students may begin enrolling in new GatorGradCare plans

As announced in the March issue of the all-employee InfoGator, UF Human Resource Services is introducing a new health insurance plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida for the GatorGradCare and PostDocCare programs.  The new plan will be available to postdoctoral associates beginning July 1, 2011, and to graduate assistants and pre-doc fellows beginning August 16, 2011.

Graduate students who meet the eligibility requirements for GatorGradCare may enroll in GatorGradCare plans for the 2011-12 academic year. The coverage terms available during this enrollment period are:

  • Annual:  August 16, 2011 – August 15, 2012
  • Fall Only:  August 16, 2011 – December 31, 2011
  • Fall/Spring:  August 16, 2011 – May 15, 2012

Students interested in annual, fall only, or fall/spring coverage must log on to the GatorGradCare section of HRS’s web site to complete the enrollment process by September 14, 2011.  Please note that this is a different enrollment site from previous semesters, as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida is the new insuring vendor for the 2011-12 academic year.

Graduate students who will meet the eligibility requirements for GatorGradCare for both the fall and spring semesters are advised to enroll in the annual plan.  This way, the student will have coverage through the summer, even if he or she is not on an appointment during the summer. Please also note that international students are required to submit an annual plan enrollment.

For eligibility requirements, brochure, and other related information for the new health plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, please see the GatorGradCare section of HRS’s site.   If you have any questions, please contact the GA and Post Doc Associate Benefits Office at (352) 392-0003.

Classification and Compensation staff designated to assist specific UF departments

Position actions and special pay increase requests for each college or department are now assigned to specific staff members in HRS’s Classification and Compensation office: Adia Rhodes, Desiree Williams, or Brook Mercier. In the past, Adia managed all exempt positions and Desiree managed all non-exempt positions.

A full list of college and department assignments can be viewed on the Classification and Compensation section of the HRS web site. Alternate work location agreements continue to be managed by Desiree, and perquisites are managed by Adia. All staff requests for additional university employment and compensation are processed by Brook.

For assistance, contact Adia at adia-rhodes@ufl.edu, Desiree at desireef@ufl.edu, or Brook at bmercier@ufl.edu.
