Costs of OPS criminal background checks now covered
In March 2011, the University of Florida implemented a formal policy that requires criminal background checks on all new TEAMS and salaried faculty hires, the costs of which were covered by UF’s Office of Human Resource Services (HRS). Criminal background checks conducted on employees that are not covered by the policy, such as student or OPS hires, were paid by the hiring department. However, beginning March 1, 2012—in an effort to support the continuous effort in maintaining and fostering safety and security of students, faculty, and staff at UF—HRS will pay for all criminal background checks for all hires, including internal promotions and internal transfers. Questions? Contact Recruitment and Staffing at (352) 392-2477.
