The EAP is ready to help you fulfill your New Year's resolutions
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) wants to help you start the New Year right by assisting those who want to quit smoking or using other tobacco products. The EAP offers Smoking Cessation Groups beginning January 2012. Individual coaching session will continue to be offered those who cannot make scheduled group times. Healthy Gators award recognizes contributions to health and well-being

Nominations accepted January 23 to February 11

healthy gator logoDo you know a UF faculty or staff member or student who made a remarkable health-related lifestyle change or led a program that greatly influenced the well-being of the UF community in 2011? Nominate him or her for the Healthy Gators Recognition Award.

Entries will be judged based on:

Now in its second year, the award recognizes efforts whose impact extends beyond physical wellness to areas such as environmental, emotional, spiritual or social wellness. The Healthy Gators Coalition, which administers the award, encourages nominations from departments and groups across UF.

“I look forward to hearing interesting, one-of-a-kind stories about how people created healthy balance in their lives or the lives of others,” said Jane Emmerée, Ph.D., chair of the Healthy Gators programming workgroup.
Nominations open January 23 and end February 11. Winners will be announced April 9.

Get your prescriptions filled on campus while you work
UF faculty and staff have a convenient new option for getting needed medications quickly and easily. Bring your prescriptions to the UF Student Health Care Center Pharmacy — it doesn’t matter whether your medical provider is on or off campus. The pharmacy accepts university-sponsored and commercial insurance plans, as well as self-pay. Call (352) 392-1760 or stop by the Infirmary Building, First Floor, 1 Fletcher Drive, to find out if your insurance is accepted.

Also, get low-cost health, wellness, and beauty items such as shampoo, skin care products, cold medications, pain relievers and first-aid supplies.
