Service Recognition Program
The Service Recognition Program recognizes USPS and TEAMS employees with at least five years of continuous service. Pins are distributed on a bi-annual basis to departments by Human Resource Services, the Health Science Center, and IFAS and are awarded in five-year increments (5, 10, 15, etc.).
Service Pins for the Health Science Center and affiliates are managed by the COM Dean’s Office, Finance & Administration. Please contact Corina Velasquez at (352) 265-7660 for any inquiries regarding employee anniversaries in the Health Science Center.
Service Pins for IFAS employees are managed by the College of Agriculture, Vice President for Administration Office. Please contact Virginia Mauldin at (352) 392-1971 for any inquiries regarding employee anniversaries in IFAS.
All employees (other than HSC and IFAS) receiving Service Pins are managed by Human Resource Services, Training and Development, Service Recognition Program Coordinator, Kenya Williams, (352) 273-1761.
“Continuous service” starts from the most recent date of hire. If an employee leaves his or her position for any reason and is re-hired, his or her continuous service is recalculated from the most recent hire date. Thus, an employee who works for five years without a break in service will receive a five-year pin. If the employee has a break in service and returns to work for five more continuous years, he or she will receive another five-year pin, not a ten-year pin. A “break in service” is defined as a break of more than 180 days not covered by approved leave.
