Reviewing Resumes
Applicants are considered qualified for the position based on self disclosure. The education/experience of most applicants is not verified until they are identified as a finalist for a position. In addition, applicants for typing positions (secretary, senior secretary, word processing operator, senior processing operator, word processing operator supervisor, and clerk typist) will be requested to pass the typing test prior to an offer being extended.
While Recruitment and Staffing verifies the candidate’s education credentials and performs criminal background checks (upon request), it is the department's responsibility to verify the candidate's work experience by conducting reference checks.
