Questions?
Retirement counseling is available from University Retirement, located at 903 W. University Avenue. As a new employee, you can discuss your retirement options, and make an informed decision as to your plan selection. Counseling at the time of retirement includes a review of all insurance policies and flexible benefits accounts as well as an explanation of the retirement process, general information about social security and Medicare coverage, and assistance with the completion of the application for formal retirement and forms for insurance benefit conversion.
Depending on your needs, a counseling session also may include a discussion of pension benefits and insurance information, a review of appropriate documents for birth verification, an explanation of the criteria for purchasing military service or prior service to count toward length of service, and other general information related to retirement or disability benefits.
Information is available about tax-deferred 403(b) and 403(b)(7) plans, tax-deferred 457 plans, and after-tax Roth 403(b) plans, as well as the Special Pay Plan and the FICA Alternative Plan.
We can also assist you in requesting an audit from the Division of Retirement and an estimate of retirement benefits from the Florida Retirement System.
