To take e-learning classes you must:

ACS800 ACS Animal Awareness Seminar
The Animal Awareness Seminar will provide participants with an overview of Animal Care Services’ policies and procedures. Completion of this course is required before access to animal facilities is granted.

ACS803 CGRC Facility
This online course will provide participants with an introductory overview of the policies and procedures related to working within the vivarium at the Cancer/Genetics Research Complex (CGRC). Requirements for personal protective equipment will be reviewed, as well as how to properly enter and exit the facility, and how to operate equipment. Prior to gaining access to the CGRC vivarium, participants must pass a graded assessment, which is available at the conclusion of the course.

ACS804 BMS Facility
This online course will provide an introductory overview of the policies and procedures related to working within the viviarium at the Biomedical Sciences Building (BMS). Requirements for personal protective equipment will be reviewed, as well as how to properly enter and exit the facility, and how to operate equipment. Prior to gaining access to the BMS vivarium, participants must pass a graded assessment, which is available at the conclusion of the course.

ACS805 MBI Facility
This online course will provide an introductory overview of the policies and procedures related to working within the vivarium at the McKnight Brain Institute (MBI). Requirements for personal protective equipment will be reviewed, as well as how to properly enter and exit the facility, and how to operate equipment. Prior to gaining access to the MBI vivarium, participants must pass a graded assessment, which is available at the conclusion of the course.

ACS806 Communicore Facility
This online course will provide an introductory overview of the policies and procedures related to working within the rodent rooms located in the Communicore Building. Requirements for personal protective equipment will be reviewed, as well as how to properly enter and exit the facility, and how to operate equipment. Prior to gaining access to rodent rooms located in the Communicore Building, participants must pass a graded assessment, which is available at the conclusion of the course.

ACS807 Communicore Infectious Disease
This online course will provide an introductory overview of the policies and procedures related t o working within the biocontainment facilities located in the Communicore Building. Requirements for personal protective equipment will be reviewed, as well as how to properly enter and exit the facility, and how to operate equipment. Prior to gaining access to the biocontainment facility within the Communicore Building, participants must pass a graded assessment, which is available at the conclusion of the course.

BRG300 Security Role Approvers
This interactive session reviews the topics and skills necessary to serve as a UF Security Approver (or Conflict Approver) for security authorization roles within the myUFL system:  internal controls, managing user security roles, and quality assurance methods.  This class is required to obtain the UF_SEC_APPROVER and UF_SEC_APPROVE_CONFLICTS (for Conflict Approvers only) roles.

BRG500 Identity Management Training
This course is required for Identity Management (IdM) Coordinators (Directory Coordinators) who are responsible for adding and maintaining UF’s identity records.

BRG600 Identity Proofing
This interactive session reviews the topics and skills necessary to serve as a UF Registration Authority (RA):  Federated Identity Access Management, Identity Assurance Profiles, and the identity proofing process.  This class is required to obtain the UF_IDM_PROOFING_RA security role.

BRG900 Understanding Your DSA Role (Department Security Administrators)
This interactive session reviews the topics and skills necessary to serve as a UF Department Security Administrator (DSA):  internal controls, managing user security roles, conflict role process, HRMS/Grants Security setups, and quality assurance methods.  This class is required to obtain the UF_SEC_REQUESTOR and UF_ER_PA_APPLICATION_ACCESS roles.

EHS819 Heat Stress Training
Heat stress training is required of those employees who work outdoors or in un-airconditioned spaces and should be completed prior to working in a high heat area. Upon completion of this training, employees will be aware of the hazards of working in high heat, how to recognize heat-related illnesses, and procedures for first aid and medical attention. Employees will also become aware of the methods used to avoid heat-related illnesses, including how some things that can happen off the job, can increase the risk of heat illnesses at work.

EHS820 Tractor Safety
All employees who operate an agricultural tractor must be trained on operating practices and any other practices specific to the work environment. In this training, OSHA requirements will be covered, which include the following:

EHS821 Introduction to BEC Training
This introductory session is designed for newly appointed Building Emergency Coordinators. Upon completion of this training, employees will have a basic understanding of the functions and responsibilities associated with the Building Emergency Coordinator role.

EHS823 Fire Safety for BECs
This training is designed for UF Building Emergency Coordinators (BECs) and will cover the appropriate actions to take during fire alarm activations along with fire safety issues. This training is coordinated by Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and presented by the EH&S Fire Safety Office.

EHS824 Bomb Threat Guidelines for BECs
This training is designed for UF Building Emergency Coordinators (BECs) and will cover University guidelines for handling bomb threats. This training is coordinated by Environmental Health & Safety and presented by the University of Florida Police Department.

EHS825 Local Weather Hazards for BECs
This training is designed for UF Building Emergency Coordinators (BECs) and will cover local weather hazards. This training is coordinated by Environmental Health & Safety and presented by a meteorologist with the National Weather Service-Jacksonville.

EHS838 Hearing Conservation Training
This course is designed to be used as part of a hearing conservation program for all employees who are exposed to hazardous noise on the job. The hearing conservation training includes the following:

EHS846 Respiratory Protection: Online N95
This online course will provide participants with the training portion that is necessary when an N95 respirator is required to be worn as part of one’s job duties. This course satisfies the requirements of the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, and the University of Florida’s Respiratory Protection Plan. Along with reviewing the standard, participants will learn the following:

In addition to this online course, participants must contact Environmental Health & Safety and make an appointment for a fit test. Fit testing ensures proper and effective usage of the respirator, which is critical to the employee’s safety.

ISC898 UF Restricted Data Training
UF takes seriously the obligation to protect Restricted Data. Failure to protect Restricted Data impacts UF's reputation, liability and finances. This introductory course explains the do's and don'ts of using Restricted Data on computers and what to do in the event of a Restricted Data exposure. Attendees will learn when to use encryption and proper methods for disposal of Restricted Data.  Specific safeguards for portable media, email, personally managed computers and other uses of Restricted Data are taught. Important contacts and other resources are presented.

PRO301 UF 101: What Every Employee Should Know About the University of Florida
This workshop is designed to increase institutional awareness so that employees at the University of Florida may be more effective in their jobs as they navigate the complexities of our large university and serve as resources for others. This workshop reviews UF’s overall organizational structure, its managerial structure (deans, directors, department chairs, etc.), and other relevant university relationships, including the University Board of Trustees and Board of Governors. Other key resources and facts about the university also are introduced.

PRO303 Internal Controls at UF
Participants will be introduced to an “internal control framework” and study the key concepts together with a series of questionnaires that will guide them in performing unit-based internal control self-assessments.

PRV800 HIPAA and Privacy General Awareness
This training module is required for all members of the workforce in UF’s medical components and their affiliated entities, whether they have access to health information or not, including faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and third parties under the direct control of UF, both temporary and permanent, whether paid or not.

NOTE: If you are involved in human subject research, you should complete HIPAA and Privacy – Research (PRV801) in place of this module.

PRV801 HIPAA and Privacy – Research
This training module presents very basic information about federal (HIPAA) and state information privacy and security regulations, and the impact of these regulations on human subject research at the University of Florida.

To conduct human subject research at UF or to use the Institutional Review Board (IRB) as a Privacy Board for research review, all principal investigators, co-principals, sub-investigators, research coordinators, and staff with access to research-related health information must complete this training module before research documents are submitted.

PRV803 FERPA for Faculty
Designed specifically for UF faculty, this course will provide a very brief and basic overview of FERPA and other student privacy rules. Throughout this course, the following topics will be covered:

PST073 Introduction to Purchasing in myUF Market
This class is for shoppers, requestors, and approvers of the myUF Market system. Requestors must pass the assessment at the end to qualify for the requestor security role, UF_N_MKT_Requestor, in order to place orders. This class covers the User Profile, Searching, Vendor web sites, using Forms for services, rentals, and more. Learn purchasing policy, how to work with carts, and how to complete the requisition. Learn how to track your orders, run queries within myUF Market, the approval workflow steps, and how to fix a returned and a rejected requisition. This class covers how to get help, using further resources, and uses targeted simulations (UPK) of different parts of the system.

PST076 PCard For Travel
This course is required for those applying for a Travel and Commodity PCard and for all verifiers/approvers as part of the PCard certification. It covers key PCard Policies and procedures for carrying and using this type of UF purchasing card, such as policy for hotels, rental cars, airfare, gasoline, conference registrations, and travel-related purchases. Learn how to refer to the PCard Index, UF Directives and Procedures for Travel, and the Florida Statutes for Per Diem and Travel Expenses to help you remain in compliance with rules for using a UF PCard for Travel.

PST077 PCard for Commodities
This course is required for those applying for a Commodity PCard and for all verifiers/approvers as part of the PCard certification. This course covers which expenses are allowable and non-allowable on the PCard and how to identify fund-conditional purchases. It also discusses being careful about conflict of interest and obtaining pre-approval with EH&S for controlled items, the steps needed upon receipt of your purchased items and how to refer to the PCard Index, and the UF Directives and Procedures to help you remain in compliance with rules for using a UF PCard.

PST081 Payroll Distributions
In this workshop, participants will review how to complete payroll distribution procedures in myUFL.  Designed for departmental staff responsible for their department's employee labor charges and cost reallocations, this course will cover how to navigate to UF Payroll Distributions--with opportunity to view and practice the steps necessary to add a distribution.

PST093 Introducing GatorStart
NOTE: All employees who currently have the ePAF role (see below) will be required to take this class before March 5, 2012, in order to retain security. 

This course will introduce GatorStart, UF's new online system designed for employee onboarding, from the departmental perspective. It includes information on the collection of employee demographic data, preparation and submission of the Hire an Employee ePAF, and completion of the new electronic I-9 form to ensure U.S. employment eligibility.  This course is required to obtain the UF_EPAF_Department Admin role and UF_EPAF_ Level 1 Approver role, which provide security to use ePAF in myUFL.

PST094 Posting Gator Jobs 2012
This course presents the new and improved GatorJobs job requisitioning and posting system upgraded on February 27.  Learn the new screens and functionality for departmental job requisitioning, approval and posting and reviewing and selecting applicants for interview and hiring. New features are covered such as Search Committee Members, Ad Hoc Reports and using the Watch List. This course is required to obtain the roles UF_N_GJ_Department Admin or UF_N_GJ_Department Approver.

PST110 Time and Labor
Required for payroll processors and department administrators and recommended for all UF supervisors and managers, this interactive session reviews reporting and approving time and leave, managing exceptions, using time and labor tools, and basic rules on leave policy and practice. This class is required to obtain the UF_TL Payroll Processor role.

PST220 Job & Position Actions
In this course, participants will learn definitions of job codes and position numbers, the process for making changes to job classifications/position actions and subsequent approval process, and the appropriate use of Organizational Development and ePAFs. A recommended follow-up class to PST093 Introducing GatorStart.

PST313 Managing M&S/Equipment Fees
In this course, participants will complete an overview of the Material & Supply and Equipment Usage Fee system in myUFL.  The course includes navigation, entering and updating fees, viewing existing fees, policies, and expectations.

PST501 myAssets Overview
In this course, participants will complete an overview of the myAssets property system designed for use by departmental Property Custodians and Contacts to control their department inventory. The course shows how to obtain a listing of their department assets and conduct property status change requests to Asset Management, including updating property, completing inventory, creating reports of survey, and requesting surplus equipment pickup. The course also discusses inventory policy and explains workflow for requests to department approvers, then to Asset Management for final approval and processing in myUFL.

PST910 Enterprise Reporting: Basics
For the end user who needs to generate basic reports for financial- or HR-related transactions. This session explores basic concepts associated with Enterprise Reporting and reviews the reporting content. Prerequisite to PST012 and PST117. Prerequisite to PST912 and PST117.

PST912 Enterprise Reporting: Query Studio
Introduces the Enterprise Reporting Query Studio tool with a brief overview of the Data Warehouse and a closer look at the various data packages. Become familiar with the Query Studio interface and complete exercises on query-building skills.

PST952 Budget Transfer Processing
Course available beginning December 7, 2011.
This interactive session covers the two methods of conducting budget transfers—Budget Transfer and Upload Budget Transfer—and is designed for those who must transfer budget monies within Commitment Control as part of their job duties. This course is required for budget officers within vice presidential units or college deans' offices who have the responsibility of managing funds within the APPROP Ledger Group and core office users within the Office of Contracts & Grants and Finance & Accounting who complete Budget Transfers and require the UF_KK_BDGT_TRANSFER_PROCESSOR role. Pre-Requisite: PST950 Budget & Commitment Control in 9.1

PST956 JE: Online Journal Entry
In this course, participants will learn the journal entry process for departments that have infrequent to regular monthly financial transactions including entering and editing journal entries online, budget checking, and posting. This workshop is required for the UF_GL_END_USER, UF_AP_VOUCHER_PROCESSOR, and UF_AR_CASHIER roles.

PST957 Spreadsheet Journal Import
In this course, participants will learn the journal entry process for departments that have large journal entries of six lines or more including downloading and preparing the template, preparing and importing the Spreadsheet Journal into myUFL, and completing journal edits, budget checks and posting.

PST960 PreAward: Grant Proposals  
This session is encouraged and appropriate for anyone with the security role of UF_GM_PROPOSALS, an end-user role for college and departmental users that grants access to the Grants module to:

PST971 Paying Vendors (Accounts Payable)
Learn how to process a voucher, gain voucher approval, obtain payment, sign up for exceptions notifications, and identify budget errors. You will also learn how to complete an Encumbered Voucher, Unencumbered Voucher (Payment Authorization), and Expense to Expense Voucher (Inter-Departmental Expense Refund). This is a follow-up session to “Intro to Purchasing in myUF Market.” This workshop is required for the UF_AP_VOUCHER_PROCESSOR role.

PST975 What Every PCard Holder Needs to Know
This course is required for those applying for a PCard and for all verifiers/approvers as part of the PCard certification. It covers key PCard policies and procedures for carrying and using a UF purchasing card, identifying ways of protecting your PCard, procedures for lost or stolen PCards and cardholder’s transfer or termination. Learn about purchase limits, precautions for card use on the Internet, receipt requirements, what constitutes misuse, and how PCards are paid and charges processed. The class also discusses steps to resolve purchase disputes as well as PCard voucher reports. Learn how to refer to the PCard Index, the UF Directives and Procedures, and the Florida Statutes for guidance in compliance to PCard policies.

PST978 PCard for Approvers/Reconcilers
This course is required for those applying to be verifiers/approvers as part of the PCard certification. It covers the PCard Team's purpose and how they support you, it describes your role and responsibilities as departmental verifier/approver, and explains the steps for verifying/approving PCard transactions in myUFL. The course discusses what constitutes PCard misuse - both cardholder and verifiers/approvers and fraud. Learn how to audit purchases to ensure compliance with UF PCard Policy and learn the steps for maintaining PCard supporting documentation for vouchers and using the PCard Paid Charges Aging Report. Learn how to refer to the PCard Index and UF Directives and Procedures for guidance in compliance with PCard policies.

RAC810 HSC Research Billing Risks
This online training module presents very basic information about Federal, State, and University of Florida rules and regulations that affect Health Science Center Research Billing policy and procedures. This training is required on a biannual basis for all faculty and staff in the University of Florida Health Science Center who conduct research involving human subjects and services.
Learning Objectives - As a result of participation in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify two main areas of fiscal/billing risk for HSC clinical research studies.

RCM100 Introduction to RCM

SCS016 Finance for Managers
The University of Florida has a complex financial system. Although units often assign people to complete the day-to-day financial duties, it is important that managers understand the underlying concepts of the university’s financial system in order to effectively run their unit. In this online session, participants will learn some basic information about UF’s funding and budgeting model, analyze some key financial indicators for a unit, and learn about the importance of an internal control system for their unit.

Preventing Sexual Harassment Training

To take the class, navigate to my.ufl.edu, My Self Service, Training and Development.  On the Training and Development home page, under Online Learning, select “Preventing Sexual Harassment.”

Human Resource Services provides an online training program, Preventing Sexual Harassment, through New Media Learning. After reviewing the program content and completing the exercises, employees must pass a Mastery Test at the end of the program to attain training compliance certification. Employees should schedule a minimum of one hour to complete the course and have access to myUFL.

Completion of this sexual harassment training is a compliance expectation of employment at the University of Florida. All employees of the university (faculty; TEAMS/USPS; and all OPS, including general, students, and academic)—that is, anyone who receives a paycheck from the University of Florida—are expected to complete this training and receive University of Florida training compliance certification.

New hires are expected to meet this training compliance requirement within the first 30 days of employment and provide certificate of training completion to appropriate department personnel.
