Computer Application Training

See course schedule

Employees often need to use Microsoft Excel 2007 in support of their business activities at UF. In fact, our UF competency research indicates a strong need for the ability to use Excel or other spreadsheet software with a high degree of proficiency as a tool for budget management! Training and Organizational Development offers a basic Excel course each semester to meet this need.  Register for the Excel sessions in the myUFL system.  For class schedule, please review our catalog.

Additional computer application training is available from other campus providers free of charge.  New Horizons also provides computer application sessions at a reduced rate for UF employees.

The UF Health Science Center IT Training has sessions available on a variety of topics including Access, Outlook, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.   Registration using Gatorlink required.

Technology Learning Center
Technology Learning Center, e-Learning Support Services, has taken the initiative of designing workshops for training faculty and graduate students in statistical packages such as SPSS. These workshops have not been designed to teach basic statistics. Participants should know basic statistics in order to take these workshops. Class will be limited to 25 participants and will meet for 2 hours.

Now available:  SPSS Free Training Workshops.  SPSS Statistics 19 is a comprehensive packet for analyzing dataset. It can import data from almost any type of file and use them to generate descriptive statistics, tabulated reports, charts, plots, and complex statistical analyses. SPSS Statistics makes statistical analysis easy for the beginner and more convenient for the experienced user.

If you are interested that students in your department attend these workshops, please email at-training@ufl.edu. A reply will be sent to schedule a meeting with your students and to plan future workshops.  Training sessions will be carried out in the HUB Room 221.   Phone:  352-392-4357, Option 6.

New Horizons Computer Learning Centers has sessions available on the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) as well as design programs such as Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver.  UF employees are eligible for reduced rates.   Please contact New Horizons for rate information.  To register for a session, please call (352) 378-8007.
