Jodi Gentry
Director,

As a director for Human Resource Services at the University of Florida, Jodi is responsible for the office of Training and Organizational Development, which provides development opportunities for faculty and staff throughout the state of Florida.

With close to 20 years of related experience, Jodi regularly speaks to local, regional, and national groups about teamwork, management and leadership, and communication strategies, and is also qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

An experienced instructor and public speaker with more than 10 years of related experience, Bob has taught or trained in both the university and corporate environments. He currently manages the myUFL training team; provides organizational development services to departments and work units across campus; and leads sessions on management skills, communication strategies, and other related topics.

He has lived in Chicago, Jacksonville, New Haven, Providence, and Boston, and now lives in Gainesville with his wife, son, and daughter.

With more than 12 years of technology and professional development training experience, Ronda is an accomplished trainer in the arena of higher education with a passion for educational technology and distance learning development.

Ronda oversees the elearning program, assists with organizational and professional development initiatives throughout campus, and facilitates several instructor-led courses on leadership and communication.

Ronda lives in the Alachua area with her husband and two young sons.

 

Angie Brown

 

B.A., Journalism, University of Oregon

Angie Brown joined HRS in 2001 as its communications coordinator. She produces HRS's electronic and print communications.

Angie brings more than fifteen years of higher education public relations experience to her role, having previously served as coordinator of college relations for Penn State University’s College of Communications and a publicity coordinator for Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Ore.

 

Jamie Cooke

 

A.A., Brevard Community College, Florida

Jamie serves in a new role in UF Training and Organizational Development that focuses on compliance training on campus.  In this role, Jamie is a contact for identifying how best to track compliance training, conducted by various UF providers, in the myUFL system to provide comprehensive employee training records.  Prior to joining T&OD, Jamie was an Airport Customer Service Representative for Atlantic Southeast Airlines in Gainesville. In addition to being responsible for ticketing, gate operations and ground security, she was also a member of ASA’s City Development Team. Jamie is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minoring in Communication Studies here at the University of Florida.

 

Tanya Fitzgerald

Tanya is a professional skills trainer for the Training and Organizational Development team and has over 10 years of teaching, instructional development, and professional training experience.  Tanya currently conducts workshops on teamwork and communicating assertively and is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Tanya earned a Master of Education from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

 
 

Angela Gould

As Communications Coordinator, Angela is responsible for the design and content of electronic and printed publications for Human Resources Services.

Angela joined the Training and Organizational Devolpment team in 2008 with over nine years of graphic design and public relations experience. An artist and educator, she has taught university level drawing, painting, and photography courses in the United States and in Italy.

 

 

 

Kim Kirkup

 

Diploma, Careers Education & Guidance for Higher Education, Reading University, United Kingdom

Kim designs and delivers instructional materials primarily focused on the myUFL human resource systems. Her background in human resources stems from several years working within an American-owned electronics company based in the United Kingdom.

She also has a wide range of experience working for universities and government agencies in both the UK and USA, primarily involved with careers and training services. Kim is a trained counselor and in her spare time, worked for a national counselling service in her home town of Bedford, England.

 

Karen Navitsky

 

With more than 18 years at the University of Florida, Karen brings a wealth of experience that includes software testing, web and graphic design, and computer hardware maintenance, as well as more than 10 years of training experience that provides a unique blend of instructional design, technical experience, and end-user support. As a member of the myUFL system training team, Karen’s familiarity with the university’s legacy systems and completion of PeopleSoft Education’s PeopleTools I and II provides her with a range of experience and expertise.

Karen’s professional awards and accomplishments include a 2003 Superior Accomplishment Award, 2003 Golden Gator Nominee, 2002 Golden Gator Award, and a 1999 Davis Productivity Award.

Marianne W. Preisler

Marianne has developed training materials for the myUFL system since its implementation at UF. She was recently involved in the testing and roll-out of the new online Training Registration system and updating the training version of myUFL for classroom use.

Marianne's experience on campus in the past 11 years includes working at the George A. Smathers Libraries and UF Bridges. Her attention to the end-user stems from work at the call center at Atlantic.Net Internet and developing software for students and faculty as a member of Information Technology Services at Santa Fe Community College.

 

Ralph E. Taylor

Ralph joined the Training and Development staff in 2007. He has an extensive background in designing, developing, and delivering a broad range of technical training products in the defense industry, including flight simulator operation and maintenance, helicopter avionics, and mission planning. He has also taught computer end user, system administration, and programming courses. Most recently, he worked on the training team for the Presidential Helicopter program.

A native Pennsylvanian, he has lived in Texas, Illinois, and New York and now resides in Gainesville with his wife.

 

Jessica Tubbs

Jessica joined the Training and Organizational Development team in July 2008. As the program assistant for T&OD, she is the primary contact for the organization, fielding inquiries from faculty and staff, and working with instructors from T&OD and outside organizations to ensure training runs smoothly.

 

Kenya Williams

 

Kenya currently is our Education/Awards Coordinator. She joined Training and Organizational Development in the summer of 2009.  In this role, Kenya coordinates the employee educational benefits including Higher Education Opportunity Scholarship, Employee Education Program, and many of the employee awards programs managed by HRS.

Kenya has spent the last 10 years of her career focused on benefits and brings a wealth of HR knowledge and diversity to the team. She is currently enrolled at Santa Fe College in the Business Administration program. Kenya is a Gainesville native and lives here with her daughter.
