UF provides time off in the forms of vacation and sick leave as well as holidays, personal leave days and family and medical leave.
Vacation leave is earned each pay period and credited on the last day of that pay period.
All eligible employees earn four hours of sick leave per pay period from the time they are employed; it is credited on the last day of each pay period.
Leave-accruing Academic Personnel, USPS, and TEAMS employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.
|Personal Leave Days
Vacation-accruing Academic Personnel and TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days per year. Personal leave days are intended to give flexibility to enable units to close during the period of December 26 to 31 when possible.
The Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) provides certain employees with up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, job-protected leave a year, and requires group health benefits to be maintained during the leave as if employees continued to work instead of taking leave.
