UF to remain open Monday, Dec. 24

Last week, Gov. Scott announced that state offices would be closed on Dec. 24 and 31. Unlike other state offices, the University of Florida provides four personal leave days during the holiday break, which already include Dec. 31. Because of the additional personal leave days that are provided, the University will remain open on Dec. 24.

While Dec. 24 will not be considered a holiday, employees may use vacation leave that day with the permission of their supervisor. Units may also choose to close with the approval of the appropriate dean or vice president. If a decision is made to close, please make sure it does not create hardship for employees who might otherwise have worked. Vacation leave may be advanced to eligible employees who do not have an adequate accrued balance to cover the closing.

If you have any questions, please contact our Leave Administration office at (352) 392.2477 or central-leave@ufl.edu.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday season!
