Annual Notice of Availability – Clery Act Compliance

Dear University of Florida Students, Faculty, Staff and Affiliates,

In an effort to assist all students, faculty, staff and community members of the University of Florida and comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), the University of Florida has published the 2019 editions of its Annual Security Reports and Annual Fire Safety Reports. All editions of the 2019 Annual Security Reports and Annual Fire Safety Reports are available for review on the University of Florida Police Department website at https://police.ufl.edu/clery/2019-annual-securityfire-safety-reports/.

The Annual Security Reports and include statistics for the previous three years (2016, 2017, and 2018) of reported crimes that occurred at each campus location, in on-campus student housing facilities, at off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University of Florida or officially recognized student organizations that are frequently used by students for educational purposes, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from each of the four campuses. The Annual Security Reports also include policy information related to campus security, policies regarding alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking prevention, as well as disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. 

The Annual Fire Safety Reports contain information regarding fire safety systems for on-campus student housing facilities, fire statistics for on-campus student housing facilities, and fire safety policy information. Each Fire Safety Report also contains policy information related to smoking and open flames in on-campus student housing facilities, procedures for student housing evacuation in case of a fire, policies regarding fire safety education for students and employees, the titles of each person or organization to which students and employees should report that a fire in an on-campus student housing facility occurred.

If you would like to receive a hard copy of the Annual Security Reports or Annual Fire Safety Reports, you can do so in person at the University of Florida Police Department Front Desk at 1515 Museum Road, Gainesville, FL 32611, or you can request that a copy be mailed to you by calling (352) 392-5447. This information is required by law and is provided by the University of Florida and the University of Florida Police Department.
