Non-Student Hourly OPS Policy now available
A University of Florida policy that defines non-student hourly OPS employment is now available at https://hr.ufl.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Non-student-hourly-OPS-policy.pdf and takes effect on August 16, 2018.
The policy provides parameters on the appropriate use of non-student hourly OPS employees on a term or as‐needed basis. It also includes more descriptive OPS job codes, which follow, and introduces a threshold for total hours worked for #1-4 below:
- OPS Time-Limited
- OPS Special Risk
- OPS Sponsored Projects Non-Clerical
- OPS Sponsored Projects Clerical
- OPS Health Care
- OPS Contract Services
- OPS Special Project
- OPS Seasonal
- OPS As-Needed
- OPS Secondary
Areas with employees who will be at the threshold (4,176 hours) as of August 16 should communicate their specific plans to address long-standing OPS employment with Classification and Compensation at compensation@ufl.edu as soon as possible. There is no expectation that employment must end on August 16; however, reasonable and specific plans for impacted OPS jobs must be underway by that date.
Questions about this policy may be directed to your college/department human resources liaison or to compensation@ufl.edu.
