Pulse Commemoration and Unity Ceremony

Dear students, faculty and staff,

As our campus welcomes new students for Summer B semester, we invite the Gator community to join together and remember the lives lost in Orlando.

The Pulse Commemoration and Unity Ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the base of Century Tower and will last approximately 30 minutes. Speakers will include UF President Kent Fuchs; LB Hannahs, director of LGBT Affairs at UF; and Diana Moreno, UF’s program coordinator for Hispanic-Latino Affairs.

RTS bus routes 120, 125, 127, and 128 passing by Century Tower and all other vehicle traffic traveling Newell Drive near the center of campus will be redirected from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Limited special accommodation parking is available in front of Peabody Hall.
Over the last week, Century Tower has shone brighter than ever, illuminated nightly in rainbow colors as a beacon of solidarity. It has served as a daily reminder that love and compassion will counter hatred.

At the University of Florida, every Gator counts. We must stand together to support and find strength in each other.
