Melissa Curry named interim Vice President for Human Resources

SUBJECT: Melissa Curry named interim Vice President for Human Resources
I am pleased to announce that effective July 1 Melissa Curry will be serving as the
interim Vice President for Human Resources. Melissa is a 23-year veteran at UF, most
recently serving as assistant vice president for Human Resources, overseeing the areas
of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, Employment Operations and Records,
Immigration Services, Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity
Compliance, Classification and Compensation, Workforce Analytics, and the Office of
Strategic Initiatives. As director of Recruitment and Staffing for 10 years prior to her
current role, she led a number of UF system implementations, including the electronic
personnel action form (ePAF), and the GatorStart online onboarding system. Melissa
also led the recruitment efforts for UF’s Faculty 500 initiative and created the Strategic
Talent Group, an internal executive search group created to assist with UF’s high-level
and difficult-to-fill positions.
Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, obtained her
master’s degree in educational leadership at UF and is currently pursuing her doctorate
in educational leadership at UF. She is also a Society for Human Resource Management
Senior Certified Professional (SPHR-SCP).
We are fortunate to have Melissa’s experience and professionalism to help guide the HR
