What is Open Enrollment?
Open Enrollment is your yearly chance to adjust your benefits for the upcoming plan year. Changes made during this time take effect on Jan. 1 of the following year. Outside of this period, changes are only allowed within 60 days of a qualifying status change event.

- Open Enrollment Starts – 8 a.m. ET on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026
- Open Enrollment Ends – Submit enrollment changes by 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
- Benefits Changes Take Effect – Jan. 1, 2027
New Deduction Start Dates
Any changes to plan deductions will appear in paychecks on these dates:
- State Plans: Dec. 11, 2026
- HSA/FSA: Jan. 8, 2027
- GatorCare and UFSelect: Jan. 8, 2027

Prepare for Open Enrollment
Find all of the resources and information provided by the State of Florida to stay up to date in preparation for this year's Open Enrollment period.
Review your current benefits and ensure they meet your needs. You may view your elections by going to myUFL > Main Menu > My Self Service > Benefits > Benefits Summary.
Update your MAILING ADDRESS in ONE.UF and confirm your emergency contact information. Your mailing address is within the "Personal Addresses" section, and updates will transfer to your state People First account overnight.
To locate your PFID, log into myUFL and navigate to: Main Menu > My Self Service > Benefits > PFID & Beneficiary Info. To reset your password, log onto the People First website and follow the “Forgot Your Password” instructions. Please note that People First now requires multi-factor authentication when you log in. You can download an authenticator app or have the verification sent to your phone.

Submit Enrollment Changes by Oct. 30
Open Enrollment closes at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 30, so make sure you submit all changes before that time.
Benefits Highlights: Changes for 2027
Deductibles for the State of Florida High-Deductible Health Plans increase by $50 for an individual and $100 for a family. Effective Jan. 1, 2027, the individual deductible will be $1,750 and the family deductible will be $3,500.
The 2027 Colonial Life Disability Plan has updated the maximum disability amount based on income resulting in an increased monthly benefit. Employees can visit the State of Florida's page for more information.
The Ameritas Dental plans will have a premium increase for 2027. Visit the State of Florida's page for updated premium information.
Employees may contribute more to Health Savings Accounts (HSA) in 2027. The annual maximum has been increased to $4,500 for an individual and $9,000 for a family effective Jan. 1, 2027. Annual maximums include employer contributions. Catch-up contributions for those 55 and older will have a $1,000 annual maximum. Refer to page 17 the 2027 State Benefits Guide for additional details.
To join the state Weight Management Program, submit your medical provider referral and online application here. 2,000 applications will be accepted from Nov. 2-6, but spots fill up very fast! We recommend that you have your paperwork ready to go when the link opens on Nov. 2.
To join the state Diabetes Management Program, submit your medical provider referral and online application here. 2,000 applications will be accepted from Nov. 2-6 on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, GatorCare will have a new Pharmacy Benefits Manager, Liviniti. GatorCare members will receive new ID cards including the new pharmacy benefit information.
Employees that pay for their GatorCare coverage- Graduate Assistants, Postdoctoral Associates, and employees with Domestic Partner coverage- will see a 12.2% premium increase in 2027.
No Medical Underwriting for UFSelect STD or LTD plans
For 2027, employees may enroll in the short-term disability (STD) or long-term disability (LTD) plans with no medical underwriting.

How to Make Benefits Changes
- To Make Changes to State Benefits (People First):
- Log into your State of Florida People First account using your People First user ID and password.
- Your People First ID is available in myUFL at: Main Menu > My Self Service > Benefits > PFID & Beneficiary Info.
- Communications from People First will also include this ID number.
