The Compensation and Classification team is responsible for working with units to develop compensation programs, policies, and approaches that meet the unique need of our academic and business units. The Compensation and Classification team has experience in developing innovative solutions in the following areas:
Facilitating the organizational leadership in developing and/or revising compensation and reward philosophies
Labor market trend and analysis
Participating in various compensation surveys
Delivering up-to-date decision support research, analysis, data, tools, and structures related to compensation and classification
Auditing for legal and fair compensation practices
Salary program administration, including merit pay program administration
Maintaining the University’s classification structures

Brent Goodman oversees the university’s classification and compensation systems in order to ensure the university’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations. He previously served as an Employee Relations manager, and prior to joining the University of Florida, he worked as a human resources manager in the private sector, including for Home Depot and Bass Pro Shops. In his role as associate director, Goodman works with university stakeholders to develop and implement programs that ensure market competitiveness and internal equity in order to attract, reward and retain high-performing faculty and staff.
Kenya Williams is the Assistant Director of Classification & Compensation with UF Human Resources. She is a dynamic and forward-thinking HR professional with nearly 25 years of experience in various areas, including benefits, training, employee recognition, classification, and compensation. Her expertise extends to customer service excellence, strategic planning, business and process improvement, data analysis, and building strategic partnerships. In her current role, she implements programs to ensure market competitiveness and that the university is compliant with regulations and laws regarding equitable compensation.
Ms. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in HR Management, Santa Fe College and is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Kenya also is a proud graduate of the 2021-22 UF Academy for Emerging Leaders.
