Civil Disorder or Disaster

Employees who are volunteer emergency response team members may be granted up to two days of civil disorder or disaster leave, depending on their FTE, to respond to civil disturbances, riots, and natural disasters. The benefit also applies to members of volunteer fire departments, police auxiliaries or reserves, civil defense units, Civil Air Patrol, and Coast Guard Auxiliary involved in emergency search and rescue missions.

Approval and Documentation

Administrative leave for civil disorder or disaster is approved by the University of Florida president or designee, subject to departmental support. Employees should provide documentation from the volunteer emergency response team confirming their involvement.
