An employee transferring to the University of Florida from an eligible institution, which includes another university or state college in the State University System of Florida and select State of Florida agencies, can transfer up to 80 hours of vacation leave and 80 hours of sick leave. These transferred hours will be combined with any UF leave accruals upon separation and will be cashed out according to UF leave policies, based on credited years of service with UF.
Requests to transfer leave into UF must be submitted within 31 days of hire.
Request to Transfer Leave into UF
Requests to transfer leave out of UF must be submitted prior to the employee’s last day worked. The department should not submit a leave cash-out until the Central Leave Office has confirmed that the hours have been transferred.
The University of Florida will transfer out as many hours as the employee requests up to the accrued balances at the time of termination.
