Person of Interest

Person of Interest is a new feature that allows departments to add non-UF employees directly into the myUFL system in order for the non-UF employees to sign up for training sessions in the myUFL system and to grant them security roles in order to perform appropriate actions in the myUFL system.  This replaces the process of completing and submitting “Add Non-UF Employee” forms to HR.

You may notice the navigation in myUFL is different than what is shown in these training resources.  Rest assured, these changes are primarily look and feel differences. All policies and procedures discussed in these materials are accurate and up to date. Training materials will be updated to reflect the new look and menu of myUFL.

Training

To register for online courses in myTraining, navigate to mytraining.hr.ufl.edu. From the myTraining Dashboard, you can search for courses using the Activity Search field in the upper left hand corner. Just type the course name, course ID or a keyword and then click Search.

After you’ve registered for training, your current enrollments display in the Training list found on the Dashboard page. To begin an online course, click the green Start button.

You can also access myTraining from myUFL using the following navigation:
Main Menu > My Self Service > Training and Development > myTraining

PST093 Creating a UF Appointment

This course will cover the steps required to Create a UF Appointment using myUFL, GatorStart, and I-9 Management.  The course also covers how to update Identity Management and prepare and submit the Hire an Employee ePAF.  The course will review I-9 Management and E-Verify.  Lastly, the course will cover checking Job Data, Time Reporter, and the importance of Commitment Accounting.  There are certain salary plans that are excluded from GatorStart and these special exceptions will be covered as well.
NOTE: You do NOT need to retake PST093 as part of the HR/Payroll Upgrade if you have already completed it.

PST920 Managing ePAF 9.1

This course reviews how to complete position and job actions through electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAF) in myUFL. The session also covers policy and procedure for preparing the Additional Pay ePAF and how to obtain a UFID for a “non-employee” using the Person of Interest ePAF.

Security Roles

UF_EPAF_Department Admin  

  • Enter job actions for employees, such as hires, rehires, job changes, leaves of absence, terminations, leave cash–outs, and additional pay.
  • Enter position actions for Faculty and TEAMS such as FTE changes, position description updates, reclassifications, adding a new position.
  • View personal information and job data for employees
  • Review medical exam results
  • View workforce reports in Enterprise Reporting
  • NOTE:  This role cannot be approved for someone who also has the UF_EPAF_Level 1 APPROVER role without core office (HR) approval.

UF_EPAF_Level 1 Approver

  • Approve, deny, or recycle submissions for job actions, such as hires, rehires, job changes, leaves of absence, terminations, leave cash–outs, and additional pay.
  • Approve, deny, or recycle submissions for Faculty and TEAMS position actions such as FTE changes, position description updates, reclassifications, adding a new position.
  • View personal information and job data for employees
  • View workforce reports in Enterprise Reporting
  • NOTE:  This role cannot be approved for someone who also has the UF_EPAF_Department Admin role without core office (HR) approval.

 IMPORTANT: Completion of PST093 Introducing GatorStart and PST920 Managing ePAF is required to obtain/retain the UF_EPAF_Department Admin or UF_EPAF_Level 1 Approver security role.
