DLP001 – Data Governance and Data Management

 Available as on on-demand course through myTraining.  

This course is recommended for data stewards and users who use and access data in their respective departments. It provides a strong foundation for understanding data, including the primary concepts related to data management and data governance. The course introduces the data lifecycle, business glossaries, metadata, data practices, and the UF data roadmap. It is best to take this course before the other data courses listed below.  

DLP101 – Data Literacy: Basic Workforce Information Reporting

This course is designed for exploration and discovery, allowing you to apply your knowledge in a real-world context. Learn to predict and analyze data, discover how to obtain the necessary information, and consider meaningful presentation formats. This course equips you with essential skills for data-driven decision-making in the context of workforce information reporting.  

DLP102 – Data Literacy: Faculty to Staff Ratio Over Time

This virtual, instructor-led session uses six critical questions to help you learn how to run and analyze HR-oriented reports accurately and present the data in a way that is clear and understandable to equip your department/unit to make successful business decisions. This interactive session will answer the HR-oriented question of the faculty-to-staff ratio over time. This course is recommended for those responsible for obtaining and displaying accurate HR-oriented reporting data.  

CFO125 – Fiscal Onboarding Data Literacy Course

This virtual, instructor-led session is designed for new fiscal staff to be empowered to be data curious, demonstrate how financial data flows, and determine their role in curating that data. Participants will partake in two activities intended to familiarize them with how to leverage data in their roles. Check back in August for available dates and times once the Fall training catalog is live.   

DLP103 – Finance Data Literacy: Analyzing Departmental Transactions

 Available as on on-demand course through myTraining.  

This course is designed for exploration and discovery of financial data, providing you with an opportunity to apply your knowledge in a real-world context. Learn to assess data needs, discover how to obtain the necessary information, practice analyzing data, and consider the best way to meaningfully communicate your results. This course equips you with essential skills for data-driven decision-making in the context of departmental transactions. A working knowledge of Excel is helpful for this course.
