The University of Florida Compliance and Ethics’ division is accepting inquiries, nominations, and applications for the ADA/504 Coordinator position. Located in Gainesville since 1906, UF has 16 colleges, a major academic health center, a championship-winning athletic program, a top-ranked undergraduate online program, and in keeping with its land-grant mission, one of the nation’s most comprehensive agricultural and natural resources programs. All are based at the University’s 2,000-acre campus, joining its historic red-brick core with advanced facilities and preserved natural areas connecting to adjacent innovation, commercial, and residential districts. 

Compliance Oversight – Serves as the enterprise point of contact for all matters related to ADA/504 compliance, ensuring adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies. Works collaboratively with compliance partners across the UF enterprise to develop tools, best practices, and resources. Develops coordinated and streamlined practices/procedures/services to ensure a compliant, transparent, and consistent ADA/504 process is operationalized. Tests and monitors effectiveness of systems and remediation of weaknesses and gap mitigation. Collects, analyzes, and maintains data related to ADA/504 accommodation requests, trends, and outcomes, and utilizes this information to inform decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and prepares required reports for regulatory agencies. Consults with campus partners to ensure accessibility with campus facilities, programs, and digital environments.

Accommodations Management – In accordance with established policies and procedures, manages the interactive accommodation process for employee requests. Receives and reviews requests for accommodations by employees of the UF enterprise. Documents and tracks accommodation requests to ensure effective implementation and follow-up. Collaborates with institutional partners including HR, colleges/units, the DRC, and individuals with disabilities to determine appropriate accommodations. Ensures grievance procedures are available for employees and students regarding accommodation concerns. Renders final determinations regarding student accommodation as part of the student grievance process.

Accessibility Training – Develops and delivers comprehensive and targeted training to various constituent groups at the university. Ensures that the interactive process is clear, accessible, and understood by those being trained. Offers consultations to institutional partners and individuals seeking to utilize the interactive process on best practices and documentation.

Committee/Strategic Partnerships – Chairs and oversees the university’s ADA/504 committee. The committee will be comprised of various partners within the UF enterprise and will respond to issues when they arise, advise the ADA/504 Office regarding institutional implementation issues, and review data and promote root cause analysis in future strategic planning initiatives. The ADA/504 Coordinator will also serve, as needed, on other committees where ADA/504 representation is beneficial.

Supervision of Staff – Supervises ADA Case Manager, and future planned positions within the ADA/504 Compliance office.
