Benefits Costs

University employees have access to two types of premium plans: State plans and UFSelect plans.

 

   State of Florida Plans

State plans offer comprehensive coverage for health, life insurance, vision, and dental needs.

Note: State benefits are prepaid by one month, meaning September deductions typically fund October coverage. In correlation, state benefit plans remain active until the end of the month following an employee’s departure from UF.

Double deductions are collected from February through May for active 9/10 month employees to prepay for summer coverage through September.

 


 

   UFSelect Plans

UFSelect plans provide various options for health, dental, vision, long-term disability, term life, and legal support.

Note: UFSelect plans are not prepaid, and costs are deducted during the same month covered. Benefit plans remain active until the end of the month that an employee leaves UF.
